The pizza here is good. Spent the week in Bethany Beach and turned to Yelp in order to find some decent local pizza. Milk & Honey did not disappoint. The pizza is thin crust and very flavorful. The store itself is a bit odd, as some reviewers have mentioned (they sell old videos, etc in the front half of the store). Look past that though (literally and figuratively), and there's some great pizza to be had.

We must have hit one of the off days. We ordered the Cajun pizza, a plain pizza, an antipasto cheese steak, and fries. The Cajun pizza was missing the shrimp and the cheese steak was missing the artichokes. The fries were over done. This all cost $49 for a small amount of food that did not offer all that was promised. We were severely disappointed after mostly favorable reviews.

Best pizza around town. Hands down. Don't fall for the local chains or bigger names. I found this on Yelp and it happened to be close to where I was staying, and boy was I glad. Always go more local when you travel and don't shy away from the places that don't have a huge storefront.

A very much hipster feel atmosphere to the place. With old classic vhs movies and CDs to random nostalgic items. Although I don't understand how this fits in with their menu of food...their subs are amazing! Not the fastest workers in the world but I'm on vacation so I'm not in a rush :p

Very long wait time for food. Ordered pizzas. The white was decent, the plain was awful. The thin crust was nice but the sauce was too thick like tomato paste.

"The six year-old I babysit could make a Boboli pizza better than this," said my daughter. Everyone else in my family agreed. The large was not very, and the bacon we ordered was so not there, we thought it was just scattered baco-bits. The cheese (only) pizza was like a large cracker with pizza sauce and a little cheese. The crust is so thin. We chose this place based on favorable Yelp reviews: Fail! Strange interior...something you have to see for yourself, to convince yourself that odd interior equals odd pizza. On the upside, the guy working there was super nice.

This place has great pizza and subs. Really well done. They take time and care. Best pizza at the beach, hands down!! Everything else in the reviews here -- about the store, and the other business they run-- is true. Seems so strange - you would think they would do so much better to focus on what they do well... but hey, guess it work for them! I wish their hours were longer, and they were a little closer to me. It says a LOT that I'll drive 20 minutes to get there!

this was the best sandwich i have had at the beach in a long time. They make their own meats and dressings as well as olive mix, pepper mix, etc. 4 for me means very good, well above the crowd. I have missed out by not going here before. Next I will try the pizza!

Finally got around to sampling the hoagies at Milk & Honey this year while on my annual beach vacation. Friends of mine over the past years have eaten here and have raved about it. As the leader of the Cold Cuts Coalition on Facebook, I was VERY impressed with the quality of bread and ingredients in these hoagies. I had the Italian and it was outstanding. While the meat wasn't thin sliced, the chunks of meat were fresh and it was a different take on an old classic. I was also impressed at the prudence shown with the toppings. I hate it when hoagies are overloaded and these certainly contained the right amount of hot peppers, lettuce tomato and onions. Wait times can be a little long, but the level of quality negates any issues I would have with this. Ordering ahead cures this anyway. Next time I am in Bethany, I will most certainly go back and try some other items on the menu.

My family has been going to Milk and Honey since it opened....what ten years now? The subs are without a doubt the best anywhere around. The two folks who run it are definitely a little weird, but very nice. And the "store"? Well, if you need a VHS copy of Tootsie, a ukelele, and some plastic Groucho Marx sunglasses, this is your spot.

Excellent tasty subs. We come to Bethany each year and this was our first visit to Milk and Honey. We will be there again before we leave. They use very tasty meats on their subs as well as very good spices. Among the best subs we've ever had.

This place is hard to explain you just have to experience it for yourself. The counter where you place your order is at the back of what looks like a 3rd-world convenience store. At first we were convinced it was a front for some money laundering operation. But year after year this two-person business continues to churn out some of the best sandwiches on the shore. Over time they expanded to offer cheesesteaks, pizza, breakfast sandwiches & baked goods. Everything, including the bread, is fresh made everyday. The turkey meat is the authentic thing, nothing pressed or pre-sliced. When you enter the door, time slows down, so be patient and understand that b/c everything is made fresh, they may run out of ingredients. Best to call ahead.

Looking to try a new experience while in BB, we turned to Yelp and found Milk and Honey. With all the rave reviews, we made a point to go out of our way and try what we thought would be a new gem. This place is a hipster paradise. Cassette tapes, VHS movies, old copies of magazines for sale, outdated philosophy books, expired Chessmen cookies, the list could go on and on--these guys sell a little bit of everything. Cool, sort of. It does give you plenty of things to look at while you wait 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches, and since we were the only people in the shop, there was no bumping elbows. We were told they were slammed and that the wait would be pretty long (20 min) for a sandwich, which was fine by us. We're pretty patient. But, after 20 minutes, we were asked again what kind of sandwiches we wanted. The guy had absolutely no recollection of us ordering when we came in. One customer came in to pick up his order, and the guy behind the counter went on for a good 10 minutes in philosophical jargon about how it was a busy day. Like I said, they were making one sandwich order, then we walked in, then the guy who ordered ahead came in to pick up the sandwich order that was in front of ours. Things started to look a little rocky when he told the lady making the sandwiches that we wanted provolone three times, and kept repeating what the order was. I guess it could feel pretty busy if you had to take every order twice and repeat it three times to get one sandwich made. We got home with our sandwiches, famished, and I was surprised to see real turkey--not slices of turkey "breast," but real chunks of turkey! Hey, maybe this place does deserve 4.5 stars! Hubby had a cheesesteak sub, and everything looked really delicious, but with the first bite, both of us were sorely disappointed. The flavors of both sandwiches were so bland, they bordered on hospital food. The bread was really good, I will give them that, and the meat looked real, so that's a second star for Milk and Honey, but for a chipotle salsa and green pepper turkey sub with all the fixings, I shouldn't have had to dig in the fridge for something else to put on my sandwich to make it worth eating. Two lessons learned from our trip to Milk and Honey. #1. Kids, this is why you shouldn't do drugs. Severe short term memory loss and an inability to concentrate are bad qualities to have as a sandwich maker. #2. Sometimes you just can't trust Yelp. This is a place that I just cannot recommend, and we will not be going back.

Great pizza but completely bizarre place. I thought at first I had walked into a pawn shop. There is stuff everywhere - VHS tapes, records, old magazines, beach findings, all of it irrelevant to their food business and none of it interesting to me at all. Owners run the place and think of their work as craft. I recommend the pizza but the store freaked me out a little. Pizzas are small - order more than you think you will need.

Want a great pizza (much better than grotto)? Want a VHS copy of roller ball (who doesn't)? Want some chicken flavored cup o' soup (ummm...)? Then this is the place for you! Pizza is really great though. Just not sure what they're trying to do with the rest of the place.
